| Adoption Requirements
Tri-State Bloodhound Rescue puts a lot of time, effort, love and money into its rescues. Our only concern is what is in the best interest of the dog. Our only goal is to match the bloodhound with the right home, one that will be a happy forever home. Adoptions are decided on the degree of compatibility of the dog and the prospective family and not on a first-come, first-served basis. We recognize that each dog and each adoptive home is unique. Adoption requires the following:
- Knowledge of the breed
- Financial resources to properly care for a bloodhound
- Clean water and nutritious food
- Indoor homes only-dogs will Not be placed to live strictly outdoors
- Substantial above ground cyclone fencing or security fence enclosure, with a 5ʼ height and 400 sq. ft. minimum
- Regular veterinary care, monthly heartworm prevention as well as flea/tick prevention
- Substantial daily exercise and human interaction
- Other dogs and cats in a home must also be spayed/neutered unless they are actively competing or there is a verifiable medical reason
- Adherence to the terms of the Adoption Agreement
